NED Alumni Association of Tristate

Welcome to the website of NED Alumni Association of Tristate (NEDATS).

The purpose of NEDATS is to serve as a forum to facilitate and enable the best interests and traditions of NED University and its alumni in the Tristate Area, which comprises of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut States, and collaborate with other NED Alumni Chapters to connect NED Alumni in a lifelong support of NED University and each other.

NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, Pakistan is a premier Engineering institution. It was established in 1922 as an Engineering College and was chartered as a University in 1977. Over the years, its graduates have excelled in many disciplines at home and abroad.

NEDATS Alumni History

NEDATS began as a small group of alumni committed to staying connected and supporting the university. Over the years it has grown into a registered, not-for-profit alumni association with a structured membership, bylaws, and recurring programs aimed at strengthening the NED community in the tri-state area. The association has co-hosted international alumni conventions and partnered with umbrella organizations like NEDIAN-NA to increase impact.
  • 2006 – Hosted 2nd International Alumni Convention

  • 2009 – Foundation of NEDATS NED alumni in NY, NJ & CT.

  • 2010 – Launch of Scholarship Program

    • Initiated the NEDATS Scholarship Fund, supporting deserving students at NED University and alumni dependents in higher education.

    • Established criteria for need-based and merit-based awards.

  • 2011 – Hosted 7th International Alumni Convention

    • NEDATS hosted the International NED Alumni Convention at Hilton Parsippany, New Jersey. Attended by hundreds of NEDians, NED faculty members, and alumni representatives from across North America and Pakistan.

    • Strengthened ties between NED University and its global alumni community.

  • 2012–2015 – Community Growth & Events

    • Annual Eid Milan gatherings, family picnics, and professional networking sessions became core traditions.

    • Membership increased significantly new members joined the association.

  • 2016–2019 – Expansion & Collaboration

    • Collaborated with NEDIAN-NA (NED Alumni Network of North America) on multi-chapter events.

    • Strengthened scholarship programs and increased fundraising capacity.

    • Organized technical seminars featuring senior industry professionals and NED faculty.

  • 2020 – Digital Engagement & Pandemic Response

    • Introduced virtual meetups and webinars to keep the community connected during COVID-19 restrictions.

    • Continued scholarship awards remotely through online coordination with NED University.

  • 2021 – Support for NED University

    • Contributed funds for the BIM Lab (Civil Engineering Department) at NED University.

    • Supported smart classroom and digital learning initiatives.

    • Launched mentorship programs connecting recent graduates with senior professionals in the U.S.

  • 2022 – Hosted 16th NED International Alumni Convention

  • 2024 – Strengthened Alumni Network

    • Hosted annual Eid dinner and picnic with record participation.

    • Initiated a membership drive with exclusive alumni benefits and discounts for events.

    • Expanded collaboration with NED faculty visiting the U.S. for academic partnerships.

  • 2025 – Present & Future

    • Continuing mission to empower NEDians through education, mentorship, and collaboration.

    • Focus areas include:

      • Expanding scholarship funds

      • Establishing industry partnership programs

      • Launching the NEDATS Digital Alumni Portal for networking and volunteering
