The Need

• At NED University, we have special seats for people with disabilities.
• Mostly, they are students with visual impairment or mobility issues
• Currently, there are over 15 visually impaired and wheelchair dependent students, mostly in Computer Science.
• Numbers are increasing every annual intake – expected to reach 25 to 30 at a given time.
• Classes and labs are currently restricted to ground floors only for wheelchair-based students – Lack of vertical accessibility
• Lack of washrooms for the disabled.

First Floor

• Immediate relief for current students
• Removes academic bottleneck
• Enables diversified course offerings
• Cost: $135,000 (Construction + Equipment)

Second Floor

• Addition of another inclusive classroom and an inclusive computer lab.
• This floor will provide ramp and lift access to first floors of two separate CS blocks
• Cost: $86,000 Construction + Equipment)

Third Floor

• This floor houses an inclusive co-sharing space / incubation center to be used by students with disabilities, students and startups working in assistive technologies.
• This floor will provide ramp and lift access to second floors of two separate CS blocks
• Cost: $129,000 (Construction + Equipment + Lift)
